What are cookies?

How we use cookies
We group the cookies we use into three categories. Necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them. In other countries we rely on the consent implied by your continued use of the site: these cookies are set when the page loads, and you can opt out at any time via Cookie settings in the footer. We honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out everywhere.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for core site functionality, including remembering your cookie choices. They cannot be switched off. Where opt-in consent applies, no analytics or advertising cookies are loaded until you have made a choice.
We also use a live-chat widget provided by Crisp so you can contact our support team. This is a functional service that loads on every page, including before you make a cookie choice. The identifiers it stores are used only to keep your chat session going, never for analytics or advertising.
Marketing and advertising cookies
These cookies are placed by us and our advertising partners to measure the performance of our campaigns and to show you relevant promotions on other websites and platforms. We use RoasProof for this purpose. RoasProof stores a visitor identifier and the ad click ID from the link you arrived through, as cookies and in your browser's local storage, so that a sign-up can be credited to the campaign that led to it. Where opt-in consent applies, these cookies are only set with your consent and nothing is sent to the provider before you give it; elsewhere they are set on the implied-consent basis described above. Your choice here also controls the advertising consent signals we pass to Google.

The list below covers the main cookies used on this site, with their provider, category, purpose, and retention. Third-party providers may update their own cookies from time to time, so this list may not always be exhaustive.

- crisp-client/* (Crisp, live chat; Necessary (functional); up to 6 months): Maintains your live-chat session and conversation history so you can pick up a support conversation where you left it.
- _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics; Performance and analytics; up to 2 years): Distinguishes visitors and maintains session state to measure how the site is used.
- _gid (Google Analytics; Performance and analytics; 24 hours): Distinguishes visitors to measure how the site is used.
- _rp_vid (RoasProof, set as a first-party cookie; Marketing and advertising; 1 year): Recognises your browser across pages and visits so a sign-up can be matched to the ad click that led to it.
- _rp_clid, _rp_utm_source, _rp_utm_content (RoasProof, set as a first-party cookie; Marketing and advertising; 1 year): Set only if you arrive through an ad or a tagged link. Stores the click ID (such as gclid or fbclid) and the campaign parameters from that link so the campaign can be credited.

Managing your cookies
